This is a pretty strait forward plugin. It turns any page into a directory. I kinda used the DMOZ or open directory as a guide and put this together. If you are in need of a directory this one is easy to use and fits into your site without any advanced setup techniques. -Added the option to disable directory name, in case you use the page name as the directory name it won’t be there twice.

~~Installation~~
1) Upload the wp-directory folder into your plugins directory.
2) Activate the plugin through the plugin admin area.
3) Create a page to put your directory on, or choose an existing page.
4) Add this to the code section of your page < !- -w p - d i r e c t o r y- - > with no spaces, the spaces are there so you can see that there are two dashes!
5) Set the options in the admin -> Directory -> Options page “make sure if you are using permalinks to turn that option on”.
5) To use the quick add widget go to your widget control panel and add the directory widget to your sidebar. If your theme doens’t use widget add <?php widget_wp_directory(); ?> to sidebar.php
6) If you are going to use screenshots make sure you chmod the images/screenshots directory.
You can now start adding categories, subcategories, and sites!

August 24th, 2007 at 6:37 pm The only odd thing about this plugin is that you there are limited category options would be nice to have the ability to use both single categories as well as subcategories
August 24th, 2007 at 6:59 pm Sorting, you got to add this, sort categories, sort links also the sponsor feature, great but doesn't make sense that every site added becomes sponsor, would be better to make this so you manually select which site you want to add as a sponsor
August 25th, 2007 at 5:06 pm I installed your directory plugin, backlink and forum plugin. Have serious problems 1) directory does not show up on the created page. 2) forum shows but no place to click to add new posts ... there are no clickable options. Can you help? Wolf Apache

September 2nd, 2007 at 5:31 pm I am almost finished with the new release! I think you are going to like it. I have added a bunch of new features. I am having a little trouble getting permalinks to work. As soon as that is done I will release it. I haven't ever worked with any of wordpress's permalink functions and filters so hopefully it doesn't take me too long!
