The rain just doesn’t want to let up on us down here in Florida. Our governor has called for a state of emergency due to the flooding. I am surrounded by the counties involved and its just a matter of hours before my county is added to the list.
We have one day where it doesn’t rain then the next it pours. If it was a slow rain it would not be so bad but its a constant downpour with heavy duty storms. The beach is eroding right now. I drove home that way and I was shocked at the sides of the road next to the dunes leading to the beach. There are huge holes and they have them blocked off. The waves are pounding on the shore and taking more of our precious sand with them.
This is only Spring. This is not even the hurricane season where we normally get the bad rains and storms. We have had tornadoes today and lightning so bad that it is even scaring me and I love storms. Just not the lightning. My yard is flooded as is my street.
Someone is renting the cottage across from me and he has a little flat bottom boat and it is floating. That’s scary!!!
