Florida has been in the middle of a drought from quite some time now. What little rain we have been getting is not enough to reverse the restrictions we are under. There is nothing worse then being in a drought when you are surrounded by trees. A brush fire starts easy and with the dry timber it puts us all in danger.
The past few days we have had strange storms. In Destin we had winds that were hurricane strength but it was on land. Our airport suffered millions of dollars from planes that were flipped over and other damage. We had over an inch of rain but its dry as a bone now.
We hope for rain yet we don’t need hurricanes or tropical storms to hit us. We are still recovering from Ivan and Katerina. A nice gentle rain for a few days would not be such a bad idea. At least to me.
