If you are trying to get more traffic to your site then you should really put some time into your articles. The articles that I have written where I spent a lot of time and did a lot of research for get ten times the traffic then the ones where I just ramble on. You will also notice that really good articles will get other bloggers writing a description about your article and then linking to it. This will improve your pagerank and your traffic at the same time.
So if you heard that just a bunch of content is what it takes to get a lot of traffic you can throw that out the window. Take for example about.com it has tons of well written articles by professionals in that industry and it has become one of the largest websites out there! So go for quality and not quantity!
