As you know, Myspace has gone from a small networking site to a staple of every household and the leader of it’s kind of social networking and communications sites. A joint project owned by New Corp’s ,Myspace.com and three record labels have announced that they will be offering their own music service via Myspace.com this upcoming Thursday.

Myspace Music will feature downloads, concert tickets, streaming music,  ringtones, merchandise, downloads of unprotected Mp3s and it’s backers are hoping that the service will be able to compete with Apples’ ITunes service. All of the labels involved will receive minority share in the company as well as a cut of revenue created from the site and service. This is a fresh air for those of you download-a-holics to get your fix without being called a pirate. It will be interesting to see how this service does and what impact the vast spread of Myspace worldwide will have on the MP3 marketplace as a whole.
