This is a continuation of the article I wrote last month. I think the talk about this has been dying down since everyone has lost their excitement for the PageRank update/export. Mostly everyone that keeps track of the Google toolbar PageRank display said that they predicted there would be an update last month. Looks like that didn’t happen. I was exited for about a week thinking I could see if any of my work had payed off. Well not really, I have had an increase in natural traffic from Google so that is how I measure my seo success. I think everyone out there should do the same. I wouldn’t mind this blog having some PageRank though. I recently started using payperpost and have had some pretty good results from it. Unfortunately their aren’t a whole lot of opportunities for new blogs since the advertisers have the option to set a minimum PageRank and Alexa score. I do okay on the Alexa score but this site hasn’t been ranked yet so I don’t qualify for the really good opportunities.
Anyways, back to the topic of this post. You could speculate all day on why the delay on the toolbar update but that won’t get you very far. Either they just wanted to throw everyone off so that people would stop counting down the days to the update or they are doing something new or having some data center problem. Another theory is that they might more important things going on. I have heard that Google has been trying out new things with their scoring algorithms. I felt the shock of a major change last month for about a week or two. My traffic tripled on some of my sites and then went back to normal. Traffic from Google that is. I should write their engineers and tell them to keep that algorithm lol.
Well, I am still sticking by my method of watching for an update. Of course I pay attention to the Google toolbar when I am checking out my sites, but I also watch wireless.att.com to see if they move up from a zero. I don’t check it everyday or anything, more like once a week. I know I say it really doesn’t matter that much but it seems to be in the back of my mind when I am looking at how my sites are doing. I know there are a lot of people out there wondering about the PageRank update so I will make sure to write a post when it does happen. In the mean time keep writing content for you sites and trading back links with relative site and your rank will increase. Have Fun!

September 3rd, 2007 at 4:47 pm Hi Eric, Yes you are true, My prediction is not happen too. It's very long time since last update at the end of April 2007. I hope it will happen soon :)
September 9th, 2007 at 9:13 am Thanks for your insights. Google Toolbar Pagerank is always a useful indicator of a website's relevance and importance in the competitive environment of Internet marketing and information provision. I also like the SEO plugin for Firefox. When you land on any site, you can go to the tools menu and click on the "SEO for Firefox" menu item, then the "lookup tool", and the tool will then display a summary of SEO relevant information for the site you are viewing. One of the useful parameters displayed is the number of links. But even more useful is that when you double click on that row, Firefox then displays the URL's for each and every back-link. So if you are looking at a competitor site, and you follow this process, you can see where your competitor back-links from. I don't need to give you anymore info than that to enable you to use this fantastic Firefox plug-in to your maximum competitive advantage. I am starting to use this technique to build the SE ranking of one of my very new sites: "InternetMillionaireBlueprint.com". You should check this site out and register if you are an aspiring millionaire looking for the best process to use to achieve success online. Cheers, Wayne. PS - all you will get on my site is valuable info devoid of any hype, fluff, and BS!
