And a high def big screen with some playstation 3 action! I have been getting emails about the google pagerank situation and I really don’t know what to say. This is the longest time since there has been a toolbar update. It was expected at the End of June, then July, August, September, and now it is October. Here are my thoughts on the subject. I think that google made a big change in their algorithm and while they were deploying that they might of had some troubles. So instead of doing a toolbar update they have been working on their algo and decided to skip an update. Now of course these are just speculations, but it does fit. Before the update was supposed to happen there were reports of a big big change in the serps and then everything went back to normal “algorithm change” then when the pagerank was supposed to happen all of my new sites went from showing no information to a pagerank 0. Even this site!
I would think that google knows that everyone is speculating and spreading rumors. I think if they were going to do away with pagerank all together they would make a press announcement about it. I personally don’t think that would be a good idea for google to do that. That would just leave an opportunity for a competitor to make their own measurement for the quality of a website “most likely yahoo”. I think that google is really the only search engine that has the resources to give an accurate measurement, and I would imagine that they are aware of all this.
My guess that they will do an update as scheduled and they just skipped one for some reason.
