Or is it? My pagerank was showing no pagerank information since I launched this site about 2 months ago. Since then, I have been working to add content and gain backlinks. Now when I look at the google toolbar it says pagerank zero. Now I say to google is that your final answer for the next three months I will have a zero? Or is the update in progress? I’m hoping for the latter but you never know. Maybe because my site is so new, none of my hard work counted for this update. Will I have to wait another three months for another update? That is a long time to stay motivated in improving my pagerank. Luckily I am more interested in traffic than pagerank, but it is always nice to have some google gold!
I have searched the internet for respectable SEO blogs and forums that have confirmed a pagerank change, but everywhere I look I see that they are still waiting. So as for now I am saying that there is still a chance that my pagerank will increase! I only have one other website that I work on regularly and it is a pagerank of two. I was hoping it would go up to a pagerank four. Also the new pages that I added in my main navigation for that site still have not been assigned a pagerank, so that is even more evidence that the google dance has not yet happened. I think google likes to keep us webmasters guessing, but I would think it would happen pretty soon.
So keep writing and spreading the word about you site or blog and the pagerank will come!

August 13th, 2007 at 7:36 pm Last night i got a sudden drop in PR for a few pages but I didn't see any PR change at the domain level. Looks like the update is rolling as we speak
August 17th, 2007 at 6:01 am I’m in the same boat mate. I have spent countless hours making sure that my new site would be getting at least a PR2 (as seen on my Toolbar). I was given a zero on the 8th August. I suspect that even though the dance may sill be in progress – this is the new way that Google treats young sites. I look forward to another 3 months of convincing webmatsters that I'm not connected to link farms or being punished by the "man" for sloppy SEO. Thanks Google.
August 17th, 2007 at 4:03 pm I hear that. I am still hoping my rank will go up. It is hard to have an SEO blog with a PR zero. After calculating my backlinks last night I counted over 35,000 and I am ranking well for some of my keywords so I know google is paying attention. I have also noticed that the google bot has been visiting my site a lot since I have had an increase in backlinks. Hopefully google isn't punishing both of our sites because they are new!!
