HP may be known and highly respected for many things but innovative point and shoot camera design is not one of the company’s strong points, until now that is. The HP Photosmart R937 is eye catching and simple to use. Although the camera is pretty basic HP has added some cool bells and whistles so you can add creative touches to your informal picture taking. The LCD is 3.6 inches wide and is quite innovated. The LCD takes up almost the entire backside of the camera. The touch screen is one of the best I’ve ever seen on any device. The camera is a little larger than pocket size but it is easy to hold. With a stylus or your fingers you just touch one of the icons on the screen to access your settings.
The icons are simple, large and easy to read. It evens has an on-board help system that describes various settings and gives general guidance. It offers such modes as Portrait, Action, Close-ups, Panorama, Night, Beach, Snow and others. You can change photos into drawings, watercolors and kaleidoscopes. You can apply artistic borders and even give photos a vintage or retro look. As a scrapbook enthusiast, I love this feature. Be sure you spring for a second battery if you are going to use it on vacation. This is a fun little camera that I think you’ll be happy with for the price.
