So I finally did it. I got a new computer!! Here what I got. I wen with an amd processor, mostly because I have never had one so I figured why not. It is a 64 bit, 3.2 Ghz dual core processor which should be smoken fast next to my old intel pentium 4 chip. I got 4 gigs of ram and an Asus motherboard. The thing I am most exited about is the dual 22in wide screen monitors. I can’t wait.
You really save a lot of money when you build computers yourself and it is pretty easy. As long as you know what hardware is compatible it is as easy as plugging the pieces into the right spots. There can be some complications with bios and stuff like that, but the a couple hours with the owners manual and maybe some online forums and you should be ready to go. I also use Open Suse as my OS of choice. I will have a virtual install of windows on there for my windows aps that I use.
It should be in the mail tomorrow so I will let you know how it goes.
