In an earlier article I wrote this week (or last…time blurs together in blog world…) I discussed the Microsoft Development Plan regarding the “Surface” touch screen computer system. After doing a little more digging I found a rumor that they were proto-typing the application of the “surface” technology to a spherical system. While an interactive computer sphere would definitely be cool, I’m not sure it would be of much practical use for the everyday user. However as far as advertising, conventions, and neat-factors go, could it be any closer to heaven for the geeky touch pad phenomenon fans?
It’s true, they are building a prototype for the spherical “Surface” desktop interface! NEAT! Check it out at: http://arstechnica.com/journals/microsoft.ars/2008/04/18/sphere-microsoft-surface-more-than-just-a-rumor
