I like that companies are spending money in online advertising because that is how all these great websites can afford to bring their services or information to every one with no cost. You just have to put up with some advertising. The key as a web designer is to not go overboard with it. I try to only have one image or flash ads per page and a couple text links. I think you will get a better response from your visitors that way.
