I was curious about how we were doing here at linksback.org as far as our rank, stats and traffic were doing since I have stepped in as an author here while everyones’ favorite plugin/wordpress wizard and founder of this great site takes some time to work on other projects and spend some more time with his beautiful baby boy Andrew. As somebody who is new to the “blog” world, lingo, lifestyle and complexity of the business, I have had a lot of learning and catching up with technology to do.
While I am no stranger to writing, having kept a personal journal consistently on livejournal.com since I was about fourteen years old, and have always been interested in the possibility of working as a career writer, I never truthfully thought I would find myself actually doing it. I had a baby un-expectedly in October of this past year (long story but true…didn’t know I was pregnant until I ended up in the hospital..and yes, it’s complicated, but it does happen.) and since then had been looking for a work-at-home solution to help supplement our income. I looked into TONS of online jobs and applied for a million blogging jobs and only got some small nibbles.
Shannon at www.babiesonline.com hired me on as a blogger and I wrote there for about two months writing baby/infant related articles for a flat base pay, but was frustrated that there was no room for advancement or pay increase, so I kept looking. This is a GREAT blog for new moms or expecting parents and has a very high-quality staff of writers there including one of the senior bloggers who helped me get started with tips and tricks, Julie Fletcher.
Needless to say I floundered around for about another month until I made a connection with Eric (linksback.org founder/creator/developer/web master extroidenaire) after replying to an ad posted in the Las Vegas craigslist for a job writing content articles. Luckily for me we hit it off and he has helped me get “up to date” with the blogging groove and helped me to start two of my own blogs aside from this one that I am working on building (www.gatorproof.com, www.swisspilates.org ) very VERY thrilled and surprised to see are doing well!!
Getting back to my original point.. please feel free to comment on my articles and give me feedback, I am still learning and it is so encouraging that I am getting so much support from all of you out there. That and I found this really great link to a links page that has just about anything you could possibly ever need to know or want to know about your site, your stats, your rank, feedback, plugins, tips, articles, companies, and more! Seriously folks, there is a TON of links to some really stellar resources here:
So whether you are new to this whole phenomenon or you are a veteren SEO master blogger or advertiser, thanks for reading and please stay tuned for more quality content and articles from yours truly, SquarecatDesigns, Lyndsey Hawkins.
